My Stardust Melody, Chapter 34

Feb 27, 2013 20:42

As Luke walked into the room where Damian waited, the blond glanced uncertainly over his shoulder at Reid.  For the hundredth time, Luke wondered if it had been a good idea to ask the doctor to come with him today.  Maybe this would be too much of a strain on their recently restored friendship.  Maybe bringing Reid was asking too ( Read more... )

What a great chapter! I have to say I'm on Luke's side here though when it comes to Damian--I don't trust him either. Glad Reid was there for support too.

Henry at the diner! Hee. You really know how to write him well. :D

And I'm really glad that Luke and Reid are slowly becoming friends. I know we all want them to jump each other's bones but this relationship is nice to see.

As much as I want Damian to be decent (just this once, please), I have to admit I can't blame Luke a bit for some major skepticism.

Glad you liked Henry--for some reason I stared at a blank screen for quite some time before I could come up with how to write him in this chapter.

Yeah, the jumping each other's bones will come later (yay!) but for now they've got to figure out how to trust each other and see each other for who they really are.

Thank you so much!

I'm so happy that you've posted the next chapter. I love that Luke and Reid are becoming friends and the way you're writing them, you know, that everything is progressing slowly. I hope we don't have to wait long until you'll post the next part! Loved it.

Thank you! It shouldn't be more than a week or two before the next chapter. I'm trying to build a little cushion again, but we'll see how that goes.
I was just thinking about you. I saw where someone mentioned a line from your "The Third Roommate" in the game over on LRO. It made me miss your fics!

Yay! Another chapter - and finally (for me) time to read and comment.

I like how Reid is Reid - facing the facts and acting as a true friend, even though he might lose what he wants most in the process. Telling Luke what he has to hear, not what Luke wants to hear.

I like how Reid realizes it is time to let his anger go - his world is upside down already, let him take that final step so the healing can begin.

And, last but not least, I like Henry. I like how Reid looks at him as he's just the weirdest creature ever seen - and he is ;)

Yeah, I like all that - and the rest too :)

I think Reid did well today in the friendship department--he risked a lot by not catering to what Luke wanted to hear. And yeah, it's definitely time for Reid to get all the anger out of his system.
I always wished I knew someone as nuts as Henry. I think it would be highly entertaining. I can't imagine a world where Henry wouldn't annoy Reid--they just seem like oil and water.
Thank you!

All he knew was that he wanted to be different.

Oh baby Reid! I am suffering with you!
Maybe he'll able to change his attitude, he could learn to act different, to fight his anger, but changing who he is????
And I hope, he won 't ♥♥♥ Reid has the right to be untrusting, his mother, the person who was supposed to show him how to trust, failed, so how is he supposed to trust other people and himself in the first place? Luke should show HIM that he can be trusted...
Petunia, sorry to be the "advocatus diaboli" here
GREAT UPDATE however!!!

Thanks scotia! I don't think Reid should change who he fundamentally is either (I do love Reid), but since he's keeping these thoughts to himself at the moment, it's not like there's anyone to suggest otherwise. I do think talking to a professional may be helpful in learning how to control the rage and help him realize he is capable of being in a relationship, a fear he's harbored since his college relationship went up in flames. Just keep in mind that I'm a firm believe that when someone seeks help from a counselor, the counsel isn't always what we think it will be. Reid is only a couple weeks out from having blown up at Luke and about a week away from having rescued Luke in the fire--it's a lot to process, and because of Reid's mom, he may not be processing it in the healthiest way and may be harder on himself than he should be. Poor guy ( ... )
