When is the Auction open?
The Petulant Poetess’ Every Flavour Auction will be open from 26DEC2010 at 5:00 p.m. EST to 3JAN2011 at 5:00 p.m. EST, when the entries will be locked for comments. Bid early and often.
Will there be a deadline to get the offers in?
Offers and bids will be made simultaneously. If you want, you could technically make an offer on any day through 03JAN. All bids will close at 5:00 p.m. EST on 03JAN2011.
What if I have a problem and cannot get in touch with the moderator of my auction category?
If for whatever reason you cannot reach the moderator of your auction catagory (fic, art, etc.), please contact
astopperindeath.
What currency will be used for the bidding?
Unless expressly stated otherwise by the Offeror, all bidding will be assumed to be done in US dollars. Where the Offeror has stated a currency other than US dollars, for example, in GB pounds, then all subsequent bids for the item must also be in the same currency, i.e. GB pounds.
Upon winning an item, we ask all bidders to make their donations in the same currency as their winning bids. This will help Mods in confirming that the correct donations have been made and avoid any confusion around converting currencies. We will rely on Paypal’s automated currency conversions where the need arises.
Who will cover the delivery cost?
When offering items that need to be physically delivered, please state clearly when posting your offer who will be responsible for delivery costs, whether yourself, the bidder or a combination of the two. If there are geographical restrictions to where you can deliver items to, (because they are perishable food items or due to Customs restrictions) please state these restrictions in your post.
We ask bidders to take heed of this information and only bid on things they can physically take delivery of.
How will the donations be verified?
When donating through Paypal, you will receive an email confirming your payment. Winning bidders will need to forward this confirmation to the Mods. Bidders are welcome to obscure personal information, however the Mods will need to see the following information:
* the date and time of the donation
* the amount donated
* the email address, which was also used to place the winning bid
* your username
* details of the items that were bid on
What if I’m the winner on several items? Do I need to make separate donations?
If you have the winning bid on several items, congratulations! You don’t have to make separate donations, though you are welcome to do so, if you wish. However, you may make a single donation to cover the total amount of all the winning bids. When confirming them to the Mods, you will need to list which items the donation relates to and the individual amounts of the winning bids.
What if the Offeror does not contact me after I have won?
If you have not been contacted by the Offeror by 07JAN2011, then please contact the Mod who dealt with your bid and we will look into it. The offeror and the bidder will be responsible for setting up a system of receipt. TPP is not responsible for enforcing any schedule for delivery of items.
What if I never receive the item I bid for?
Ideally, everyone will receive the item they bid on. However, if for whatever reason you do not receive your item, TPP cannot make someone fulfill their obligation. Something may legitimately have happened to keep the Offeror from sending you your item. If we are able to tell you what happened, we will. Ultimately this is about raising money for TPP, and while it would be unfortunate to win a bid and pay for an item you never receive, please remember that it will still help the archive that we all know and love.
What if I change my mind after putting in a bid?
TPP strongly encourages you to only raise your bid if you can honestly pay for it. In an ideal world, a bid would never be pulled, but we know it may happen. If something happens, please let us know as fast as humanly possible, so that the bid can be deferred back to the next highest bidder. If you find yourself suddenly at the head of a bid and you’ve since bid on something else and find that you cannot pay for an item, we will work to make sure that the every effort is made to find the following winning bidder.
What if I can no longer provide the item I have offered?
Something may legitimately happen to keep you from being able to send your item, and that’s fine. Please contact the Mod who posted the Offer request as soon as possible. We would much prefer to hear from you and work together to make other arrangements than not hear from you at all.
If you just fall off the face of the planet for no reason, that’s incredibly not cool. If you just completely flake and don’t send the item you auctioned for absolutely no reason, it will get around our fandom, and you’re taking your reputation into your own hands.
If you are a bidder and you have not been contacted by your offeror, please contact the Mod in question.
