Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling increased tax on Britain’s highest earners to 50 percent . . .
I didn't know that one person could just unilaterally raise taxes and whatnot on the spur of the moment over there in the UK. Here in the US Congress needs to pass a law to change taxings. -

Local (Milwaukee and Greenfield, WI) police rescued a 3 year old kidnapping victim and took his captor into custody this morning.Of course, the Jounal-Sentinel feels compelled to add that the man is a "registered sex offender" with a "lengthy criminal record". So, earlier this week, Madagascar's army sided with the rioters in the streets and decided they didn't like their president anymore, so they replaced him with the mayor of the capital city.
