Oh hey guys

Jan 06, 2009 23:18

Hi everyone! I'm busily "working on my essay and revising for my exams" (read: eating Pringles and surfing the net), but I found this article which I think is really interesting: Why do lesbians love gay porn?

In which I have thoughts on the subject )

slash, television, literature, gay

The way you describe your childhood reminds me so much of myself. Almost exactly. It's kind of amazing.

Stacy is a different matter - I genuinely liked that character and went through a House/Stacy phase during series 2. Yes, well, that's because Stacy is generally, you know, awesome. Personally, I'd also point to Amber as being awesome as well. But anyway.

This was interesting. =) Yay for interesting thinky-thoughts. I just don't get enough of it on my flist.

Oh, yeah, Amber was fantastic! In more of an evil genius kind of way though. I mean, Stacy was the female Wilson and Amber was the female House, I think (I'm not even being flip, I genuinely think that stands up to scrutiny - obviously the Amber=House thing is canon, but I think the parallels between Stacy and Wilson are hugely interesting and criminally overlooked in the fandom, and if I weren't so lazy I'd do something with that idea myself).

Thanks for commenting! I really should do more of the thinky and less of the "my boring life has gone like this recently".

To me, the hot and well-written rule applies to porn, as much as to fanfic. I've seen straight/gay/lesbian porn at all quality levels. I'm not sure that m/m or f/f is generally hotter or not. It all comes down to the specifics. That's not very helpful is it.

It was great seeing you today. :)

It's a good rule, for sure. It's not that I've never read/seen any good het or f/f. I'm not drawn to it, though - I mean, I don't go looking for it, but I might read it if I come across it and it looks interesting. And I almost never write it (although I'm going through a bit of a barren patch anyway at the mo). I don't know, it's obviously a very personal thing, but it's interesting that so many queer girls like m/m...

Great to see you too, I hope you had a good journey back (or not too stressful, at least)! I slept through your text I'm afraid, I were reet knackered. I don't know if you noticed my being a bit unsteady on my feet the other day, it was very strange, I managed to fall up some steps last night too. I hadn't touched a drop, I swear! Anyway, I'm back with regular internet now, hooray.

Hi sweetie! I literally walked in my front door less than ten minutes ago. Good flight home and smooth sailing back to the apartment, plus it's nice and toasty warm here.

So much fun with the whole gang. I couldn't tell you a damn thing we saw at the museum, but sure had a blast doing it. What a great bunch!
