brooklyn is the shit
so last night Jill and I were babysitting Agatha's 18 year old cousin from France, Martin We took him to the First Saturday thing at The Brooklyn Museum. It was west indian themed and there was music and pulled pork sandwiches and all that good stuff. At 8:30 the dance party started. It was amazing. These two DJs were spinning all kinds of west indian (and west indian influecned i suppose) pop music and the dance party was huge. I'm really bad at estimating these kinds of things but I think there were thousands of people. It was the most diverse group of people ever: every age, race, socio-economic class, etc.. and everyone was just dancing their asses off in the parking lot having a great time. Jill, Martin and I danced for about 2 hours straight without stopiing, it was incredible. The diversity was so Brooklyn. The DJ was, you know, doing roll call type stuff, like "Queens in the house! Jersey in the house!" and you get the idea. Lastly she was like, "fine, alright, is Brooklyn in the house??!" and the entire crowd, jill and me included, just flipped the fuck out. Yeah, I am so glad i live in Brooklyn.
