I just CAN'T stand shôjo (in addition I live in Japan so I am SURROUNDED by shôjo mangas, it's insane -____- ) Thanks a lot for the great feedback about my work, glad you loved this illustration that is a little bit different from what I usually draw ♥
I think this is only the second art of yours that I've seen, tbh. I don't usually hang out in the art crowds {god, I wish I could draw and appreciate art properly, but all I can do is go 'OOOH, PRETTY'}. But since I've been reading manga for several years, and have had a uni lecturer who was obsessed with Japanese pre-Meiji art {it was a pre-Meiji Japanese history class, so it sort of fit?}, I was all excited because I could see the influences {hair, fluidity of cloths, lips, eyes, full moon}, and that made this ever better. XD For once I could enjoy art on more than one level! So, thank you very much about that. ♥♥
I saw above that you're also insomniac and that night is the time you draw. :( I hope it gets resolved, sometime. Insomnia is not fun {I say at four o'clock in the morning}.
Is it okay to friend you? ♥
ETA: I orignally meant to say 'for some reason it's rare'. Obviously I didn't. . . .
OMG, I am sorry it took me one week to answer you :/
Of course, it's ok to friend me, absolutely no problem about it ♥

In this art it was different, I really wanted it to look like a Japanese ukiyo painting. However my main influence in general, is not Meiji or Pre-Meiji, it's Taisho (1912-1926). The painting of that period are very particular, very dark and often gore because it was the period of what was called "Ero-guro" (erotic gore). If you have the possibility to see some arts of that period, just go ahead ^^

this is beautiful! kuchisake-onna is so frightening and you draw her so alluring. I love how her hair looks like it's bleeding. you mentioned yamamoto takato - do you like suehiro maruo by any chance? :)
Absolutely! I know his works, it's gore and disturbing and...I just love it! It's not for everybody but I am a fan =) Thanks a lot for the lovely comment about my work ♥
Love this departure from your usual style, and love your fan art website too! I had a look at Yamamoto Takato as you suggested and can see the influence - his work reminded me of an odd combination of Aubrey Beardsley and Sulamith Wulfing somehow....
Thanks a lot ^^ I wanted to draw something different from my usual CG paintings and working with Manga studio was just the right occasion ^^ I knew about Aubrey Beardsley but not about Sulamith Wulfing. Thanks for making me discover this artist's work ♥
I tried to draw it very scary but now that I look at it, I think that the girl is maybe too beautiful to be actually scary ^^;; Thanks a lot for your lovely comment ♥
That's the "Japanese gore folklore" inspiration that really made me want to fill this prompt! I've wanted to draw a spn "manga/ukiyo-e" style for ages and it was just the right occasion ^^ Thanks a lot for the great comment ♥ Dean is just SO gorgeous in your icon ^^
