All my life, I was used to being an excellent student. Learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was a very novel experience. For the first time in my life, I learned how it feels to completely suck at something. Yeah, I think you're right! Helio Gracie once said that he preferred to teach stupid people, because they learned much faster. They just do what they are told. The smarter ones tend to overthink everything, he said.

My feelings and thoughts exactly. If you take tennis, there are only about 3-4 things you can do for a shot. But in BJJ the combinations are infinite. I do hope and know I will get better some day but its going to be a long road for me. Right now, after 6 months of starting, I'm still not 'getting' it.
