Yes, I think you are right, I should try to get in touch with Carmela. There are so few women into jiu jitsu here, I think it will do us good to train together. She is not that far away from me, too. Thanks, that's good advice!
That take-down you did at 1:47 was nice - really clean. You don't see that often in BJJ. Nicely done.
Also - that Carmela is a tough lady. Watching her, you can really see she's got a strong fighting spirit. The fact that you fought her to a stand-still again and again is really something. Making a good showing against a tough opponent is a credit to your ability.
I used to cry and get angry at myself, and feel like I was letting my coaches down, my sensei down, when I lost. Now I just use losses as fuel. What can I improve on... and I look to the next tournament to do better.
How I wish I could get to that place... I'm still in the first phase of what you described; but it makes me feel better to hear that I'm not the only one who does that. The thing that made me feel so bad was that I was letting my coach down -- he tries so hard to teach me, and I progress so slowly... But at the same time I felt stupid for having these feelings... now I know I'm not alone.
When you are in side and she reverses you it doesn't count as a sweep or a pass.Absolutely! However, I was in the top of half guard. I never had side control. That's why her reversal was a sweep and gave her points... By the way, you probably know: does it count as full mount if you have both knees on the mat, but the opponent traps one of your ankles with her legs? Is it mount or still half guard

I'm always puzzled to find what looks like a regular spam comment, but without the spam link. I have a strong suspicion that these are a result of a buggy spamming software...
