I read that last night, pretty interesting. It was amusing to see that LiveJournal is mostly for old people. I remember it was considered mostly for teenage girls in the early 00s.

that Russia does not technically filter the internet, so I would not expect a Chinese or Kazakh style approach to Internet control

Unlike Australia where if the current government has its way only government-approved blogs will be allowed. And only government-approved newspapers.
