a question to iPod users

How difficult is it to use these things. My creative nomad is having battery issues and my Palm's audio jack is broken. The nomad has to use creative's software to load music, but its really easy to use. For the palm its just drag and drop onto a SD card and the player lets you create playlists. I just want something that holds at least 1 gig, ( Read more... )

I've got an old school 40gig ipod that works fine for me. Old school meaning black and white screen and no video. Yeah, itunes isn't all that great, but you can use winamp to manage your ipod files.

The iPod support in Winamp is pretty spiffy these days; iTunes is no longer a necessity. If you feel like holding out about a month, I'll have a 60GB iPod that gets about 12 hours of battery life interspersed with a week of idle time.

I find the ipod interface rather swell. iTunes is sort of hit & miss with me. On one hand it does annoying things. On the other, I liik .aac more than mp3 by a fair amount. Also, it does useful things too.

I still have occasional trouble with the scroll-wheel popping up one entry when I take my finger off of it, but mostly it's very good.
