So, it turns out that it's effing cold out there. Also, it transpires that the steps from my front door to the ground, after being snowed on all day, are borderline lethal when covered in ice.

Who knew?

Jay next door has a bag of salt for deicing the stairs. In hindsight, I should have used some of that.

Given the forecast here is for subzero for the next couple of days, I might just stay inside :D
