Peter was getting ready for his date with Zero. Nice shirt. Nice pants. No tie because that would probably be too much. Hair with gel, though. Bouquet of clovers because roses are for girls who aren't as special as her

Between the pain in his head and the pain in his sides - not just pain... there was crunching and movement - Peter Parker passed out.
When he awoke a few minutes later, there was something different. He felt stronger. But there was something else. He looked down at his hands.
All six of them. "Buh?"
Peter stood up in shock and stumbled back against his wall. And then onto the wall.
"Ow," he said as he pinched himself. "Okay. Not a dream. Or nightmare. Can you pinch yourself out of a nightmare? What if the nightmare was about being pinched?"
"Okay, Peter. Focus. You're on the wall. Your powers are back. You have six arms. What the fuck just happened?"
It was then that he thought it might be smart to give Zero a call.
"Hey, Zero. Um. I really hate to do this, but I'm really not feeling well. I... I won't be there tonight. I'm sorry."
He really was. This was his big chance for... well, not necessarily a normal relationship, because Zero was wonderfully not normal. Peter, at the moment, was not normal in a way that terrified him

Peter got onto his computer and started up his e-mail. And then he saw something from Isabel.
So we’re going to leave.
And go home.
Of all nights to get this... The tears weren't stopping.
Can you do me a favor? I never got a chance to tell you, but I told Parker the truth. Can you tell her I said good-bye? Tell her I’m sorry I never got the opportunity to ask her for that advice about test drives she promised to give me.
Take care of yourself, Peter.
If she could only see him now. Heh. He made a note to call Parker. Assuming he could. But for now, he had an e-mail of his own to write.
After receiving the voicemail from Peter, Parker stopped by after the game of I Never, still mostly sober, and knocked on his door. "Petey boy? It's Parker. Are you there?" And if you are, where the heck is Zero?
Crap. There's a reason he told her everything on the voicemail. She wasn't supposed to come here!
"Um, hey," Peter called throught the door. "Really not feeling well. Kinda feel like death at the moment and I feel even worse after giving Zero a call."
"No!" Peter said, leaping by the door. The extra arms thing meant that he could secure the door really well. One small bonus. "I'm sick enough to ruin something that could have been realy good, okay?"
"I didn't call you about that, though. I called you about Isabel."
A couple hours had passed and Peter was curled up on the wall. Still no e-mail from either Storm. He realized that it was a Friday night. Susan had a boyfriend and Johnny was a man-slut, so it was possible that they were out or away from the computer or saving the universe or something.
The more paranoid part of him said that SHIELD had blocked the e-mail somehow. This might mean that they'd be here to fix him soon. Or they could blow him up like they did to Bruce Banner. Or they might have just written him off completely. He couldn't be sure.
He was getting tired. He let himself drop off the wall and into bed. He could only hope that he recognized himself when he woke up in the morning. If he woke up.
