Anyone want to get a good look at my brother's car?

"Officer who helped capture Allgier has stepped in to save lives before."

Correction! You have to go back a page and click on 2News at Your Desk-June 26, 2007. My brother's car is the white one at the top of the street you see as the Bad guys car pulls into the Arby's parking lot. So he wasn't quite as close to the action as I first thought, but the rest of the story is correct.

Some of you may have heard the story. A man escapes from a hospital in Salt Lake City, kills a police officer and flees into the city. He was later caught by the brave actions of an ex-Army Ranger whose training kicked in when the villain puts his gun up to the head of someone in the Arby's and pulls the trigger. As many of you, especially the Sentinel fans, will know, Rangers are trained not to think but to just react. This brave man attacked, bringing the villain down and beating the crap out of him while sustaining injury to himself. The man deserves a metal.

What you probably don't know is that my brain damaged brother got a front row seat for the entire event. This is the same man who set his chest on fire, but that's a different story. Anyway, my darling brother was driving down the street with one of his employees in the car with him when he sees a mass of police cars in front of him. He pulls over to the side of the road only to have the very villain who the police were after race right by his car and into the Arby's literally across the street from where he was parked.

The police follow, all armed with automatic weapons as they run past him. One police car pulls up behind him, while another police officer charges up to my brother's car and uses the hood to brace his weapon. The cop was using the engine and the frame of the car as a shield against any enemy fire while my darling brother only had the thin protection of the car door. His employee was totally freaking out as he hit the floor board. Obviously brain damaged decided that he needed to keep his head up to see what was going on. I'm just grateful he didn't do what the other woman who pulled up next to him did, which was to get out of the car and start screaming about what was going on.

When the brave Ranger had saved the day and the police had been notified, the copy squatting behind my brothers car yelled at him to get out of there. My brother was smart enough to obey and drove back to work with his employee. He told his story and went about his day seemingly unaffected by the event. The poor man in his car spent the rest of the shaking.

Of course I can't blame my brother. Most of our family vacations are at least that eventful. It's just when a mad man has a gun and might be aiming it at you, it's usually a good idea to get out of the way and let the professionals handle it.

Anyway if you check out the video there's a shot from a helicopter of the police surrounding the Arby's. Near the top of the screen you can see a police officer squatting behind a car. Now if you had Superman X-Ray vision and could see through the roof of that car you would see my brother sitting there, calmly enjoying his front row seat on the action.
