Hello Kiddies,
Let's rock shall we? This week I had the pleasure of seeing a band that I have been absolutely crazy about since
discovering them last year. To celebrate the one year anniversary of their debut album,
Halestorm has embarked on their first headlining tour. It brought them to The Wellmont Theater in Montclair last Friday and Webster Hall on Monday. As good as they are on record, this band absolutely KILLS live. They have a great chemistry together, and they are really engaging with their audience. I have seen
a lot of great performers and some amazing live bands and these guys hold their own with the best of them! Lead singer Lzzy Hale (who is my new Rock & Roll crush) has a great voice and stage presence, drummer Arejay Hale is just a powerhouse with his able counterpart Josh Smith holding together the rhythm section, and lead guitarist Joe Hottinger would make Ace Frehley proud. The band went through most of their debut CD, while the NJ show had a bit of a longer set the Webster Hall gig had more energy and a tighter feel to it. After the shows they made it a point to hang out and mingle with the fans, sign stuff and were just the most wonderful bunch. I really hope these guys go far and have a wonderful career ahead of them because bands like this give me hope for the future of Rock & Roll.
Here are some shots I took.
And my autographed setlist. :)
If you are a rock/metal fan, get their album and if they are playing by you go see them, you won't be disappointed!
