My nephew's graduation

This past weekend, I drove up to Rhode Island with my brother
for my other brother's son's high school graduation.
It's always a nice time there, and my brother and his wife created a very nice party
in a bucolic setting, where they live.

My nephew is lucky to have both sets of grandparents living.
Both sets of grandparents were there,

That's a really great video you put together and it looks like it was a lot of fun - beautiful area. If you don't mind, what software did you use to compile everything? I've been charged with making something similar from the pictures and video of my dad's retirement party and to be honest, I've been putting it off.

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I used the standard iMovie software on my imac. Until last year, I used Windows MovieMaker, which I think is an equally good program (except it would freeze up very often, so I made sure to save every few minutes).

For me, the most important thing to do is select the music that feels best. That gives you your biggest emotional punch. Then I put all the video and photos in the desired order, select the duration for each, and then finally, I try to time each photo/video with the music. It usually takes me 1-2 hours per minute of video.

I always love your posts about family gatherings.

I know so many people who have strained relationships with their immediate family members. It is such a treat to get to share some of the fun of the interactions between you and your kin.

Thanks for posting this, Pete.

I must tell you though, that when I create these movies, I am idealizing my own family. My oldest brother, the host, said a couple of really nasty things to me during the weekend that I am still trying to process. So there you go... heh.
