To Be at Odds - A Poem

To be at odds
The perspective of two different visions
Yours...
Mine...
Can we still be?
A part of each other this way?
I don't know
When you believe in death
I don't know when I bleive in life
We can't lie here anymore
We have to be honest
Can we find a resolution?
Is there even one to be had?
A pulsating space between us canyons wide
Seeing you but not seeing you
Hearing me but not hearing me
Tears shead mean nothing if the outcome is the same
Resolve
Understanding
Patience
Communication
Wisdom
Compassion
Do we have these things to make us one again?
The essentials that two may need to live as one?
My life is your life
Is yours mine?
Can I love every truth of you?
Will I drown myself to love you?
Can we truly be together again?
The desolation of my heart tears at me for this confirmation
One of which I can not give
Here waiting to hear from you what our outcome, our fate will be
Looking into those eyes
Understanding what it is they have to say
The decision that you've made
Stuck here in a limbo between paradise and hell
Waiting one moment
To watch your lips move in a staccato rhythm of your mind
What will you say?
