I research things I don't know about, which is why I find classic Who fic intimidating. I'd never get through it.

For that reason, I absolutely love writers who can seamlessly blend classic Who with modern Martha/10 fic (let me be honest, I don't read RT.)

It's why I'm down with 8 (not so classic I know), Sarah Jane, Romana (Fred) and now Harry Sullivan (I can't believe I was missing out on so much hotness! Those sideburns...um, um, um!) And it's not simply putting them together that makes me like them, it has to be done well. I felt as if I were watching a really good film and I'm really looking forward to reading the second part.

The pre-RTD!Who refs are fairly mild, I think (but then I'd watched all of Harry's serials as I was writing this, so maybe they're not !)

Harry's serials are Robot (4 eps), The Ark in Space (4 eps), The Sontaran Experiment (2 eps), The Genesis of the Daleks (6 eps), Revenge of the Cybermen (4 eps), Terror of the Zygons (4 eps) and The Android Invasion (4 eps)

The latter features an Android version of Harry, so you could skip it...

I particularly enjoyed Robot (which introduces Harry), The Ark in Space and The Genesis of the Daleks...

I read up to the bit where Martha tells her story to the huge French crowd with the scowling boy. Did you imagine it as though Martha knew French or that she had a translator?

She can speak French thanks to the TARDIS translator in her head.

Why does Martha get all the nightmares?

Given how many horrible deaths she's seen, don't you think they're a normal response? Don't forget she was the only person to make it out of Japan alive.

I like your characterisation and it's a good story so far. Don't worry about responding until i've finished reading or i might accidentally get caught up in conversation and will never get to bed!
