I was really hoping they'd continue the theme with Rani's parents discovering aliens...would've been funny if they thought *they* were the only ones who knew and tried to keep the secret from SJA and kids.

Yes. They'd gorged themselves on Rakweed - and Sarah Jane knew it would be in their stomachs in an undigested state, so she had Mr Smith play the school bell sound again - and it caused the Rakweed to explode their stomachs...
