Snagged this from nostalgia_lj

What would you say are the trademarks of my writing? What themes or quirks or turns of phrase have you noticed? What is it that makes a story by me -- well, a story by me?

I await replies with curiosity !

One true signature is your very clever use of languages for names. That actually sticks out in my mind more than the rather vivid pr0n scenes. You also write in a distinctively elevated voice, in comparison to most fanfic authors. The words fall a bit differently.

Thanks for your comments...

I suspect the "elevated voice" is down to my coming to fiction-writing late in life, the fact that I've read a lot of "classics" of literature (and therefore have a fairly large vocabulary) and (probably) the fact that I also have a scholarly background. My writing has always tended towards a more formal style...

I do have to say I appreciate you using quotations for "classics". Too many people bandy that word about and have no idea that it relates specifically to Greco-Roman studies. *grin* After all, I may be a very silly person, but I was an all honours student as well.

Ha ! I use the term "classics" thus, because whilst I adore a lot of so-called "high brow" English literature, I also think that a lot of popular literature merits study and attention... (In my scholarly life, I write about children's literature and fantasy - neither of which are considered worthy of academic attention in some quarters !)

I love your increasingly confident use of flashbacks and non-linear storytelling - that's something I want to work on in my own writing.

Dialogue is excellent, and you're about the best Ten/Martha writer out there ;-)

And of course...teh pr0n...the telepathic!pr0n ;-D

Oh thanks ! I confess I've worried that this story-telling style was turning into nothing but a gimmick...

Gosh, thanks !

LOL !! Of course I know your love of that...

Male ejaculation is always "release." ;)
Although your stories have offered slightly differing takes on Ten and Martha, depending upon which "series continuity" you're following, Ten tends to be extremely endowed, but a bit submissive in certain situations, whereas Martha is often portrayed as relatively sexually inexperienced, but strong and proactive in action scenarios.
Your stories focus a lot on healing, either physically or emotionally, and your scenes frequently depict the characters retreating from the rush of adventures or activities they're implied to have had - either by secluding themselves in nature (picnics in the park or the TARDIS garden), in more academic settings (medical rooms, of either the TARDIS or elsewhere, or the TARDIS library), or in the psychic plane (which usually reflects the outdoors of Gallifrey, going back to nature).

Oh, that's interesting - I definitely hadn't noticed that... Hmm.

It's the most "tasteful" way I know of describing it...

Time to try writing Ten being a bit more dominating then ?

Hmmm... correct usage of grammar, words and contexts; your writing is much more formal than most, which is something I adore. Your Ten!speak is phenomenal and your Martha!speak is doubly as good. The storylines and plot twists you come up with are original, encapsulating and has been known to make me think "damn, I wish I'd written that..." on more than a few occasions. I love that your Martha has made a connection with the TARDIS too, the ideas for Gallifreyan rituals, beliefs, alien planets and all that entails, etc etc etc. There's so much in your writing that I just can't seem to describe. *huggles* ♥__♥

Everything as mentioned above: distinctive voices, confident prose, great wit (inspired by broad reading) with both subtle and bawdy humour. There's a lot of emotional resonance and thoughtfulness throughout - even when you're writing pR0n, there's always a good reason and some 'connection' to the action: people act for really good reasons, however flawed they may appear.
