I just caught up with this story and read the whole thing in one go. I absolutely love it when you put Martha and Three together. And I love your banter between Jack and Mickey. Someday I'd love to see a missing scene out of this of Three meeting Jack. And the very poignant conversation with Ten at the end is just what he deserves.

Awww. :) I've got a real soft spot for the UNIT years. They had a real family back then.

As much as I liked Tom, I don't see Martha and Tom working out long-run. Martha deserves better than someone who's going to be absent from her life, you know?

No, I don't see it either. And you're right, she might just as well have continued with the emotionally-distant Doctor, as swapped him for the physically-distant Tom.

I think the Brig, for all his pomp and bluster, had a lot to do with it, too. I don't think any of the UNIT people would work out in other groups, but they all seem to click in the Brig's command.
