"Thanks," she gasped, barely noticing the fact that he was still holding her because she was listening to the sound of the creatures' breathing and footsteps approaching their hiding spot.

"Quietly now," said the man softly, his breath tickling her ear and sending an unanticipated shiver through her body.

The creatures passed their hiding place and went on down the street, and the man pulled back a little to look down into her face.

"You okay?"

She nodded, acutely aware of the way in which his body was pressed closely against hers in the narrow doorway, which was half filled with bags of rubbish, leaving them very little space in which to stand.

*whimper* Yes, please!

He put his hands on her shoulders. "You were brilliant," he told her. "I'm grateful for your help, and I'm sorry I was a pig earlier." He leant his forehead against hers. "I'm glad to know you'll be my companion in my next incarnation and please, whatever you do, don't give up on me."*wibble* God, I wish Ten

As for Jack:
Martha grabbed his coat lapels and stood up on tiptoes a second time, but the kiss she gave Jack was far more intense than the one she'd just given the Doctor. She settled back down onto her feet, then leant against her friend, sliding her arms around him.

WOOP!

I'd love to think that Nine met Martha soon after the Time War. I can just imagine her being the one to show him just how much he needed someone around, be they silly little apes or not.
