Roughly two minutes, interrupted by msn planning-of-night-out and a phone call, so not timed exactly.Martha couldn't help but but focus on the gaps. She assumed, just as everyone does, that memory was infallible, that her mind was set on auto-record and would play things back on cue. Certainly the quality would fade, but she never expected the holes cutting through the story of her life, her travels, the time that never was

He was a glutton for punishment and yet he keeps doing the same thing. Every time he lost a companion or they leave him puts another hole in his heart. But then he goes and brings in a new companion hoping to fill the last hole only to add to it once there gone.

An unnamed world where the highest form of life were little glowing specks of light no bigger then hummingbirds. They would catch the spray from the falling water and through a bizarre chemical reaction, solidify it to build their nests. She looked up the cliff face as the sprites flew up and down it and felt tears in her eyes at the sheer beauty of thousands of spray nests, sparkling in the sunlight.
