(Freaky, I had a dream about you putting this up o.O)
I LOVED this chapter. Because it was expected (by my at least) to have a happy ending. But you realize as the story goes along that Martha definitely would NOT ride off into the sunset with him. Not now at least, not when he had lied to her. I bet if he had been up front with her when they first met (possibly the second), it definitely would have fixed things.

That's weird!!

You expected a happy ending? Interesting... I thought it was fairly obvious from the outset that there wouldn't be a happy ending - I'm glad it wasn't too obvious!!
Oh I love it!"Come back when you're a better man" Well it came back when he was different man does that count? lol Pretty strong emotions for two people who aren't in love with each other ;)

Indeed it does count!!
And yes, they were strong emotions (although I'm not convinced Martha wasn't at least a little in love with Nine before she met him the final time.

awwww.......I knew I'd be sad, when this ended. It was a lovely story, and beautiful read. Thanks....Now, if only that wonderful imagination of yours could come up with some more Nine/Martha goodies.

Thank you!
I'm not ruling out the possibility of more Martha/Nine at a later stage - but it won't be just yet given all the other stories I've got lined up to write!
Fabulous! Good for Martha, sticking to her guns and not giving in.
I think it was really hard for her not to give in, 'cos she really enjoyed being with Nine when he was John Smith - and not just for teh hawt secksings...
Bloody men, they're all the same, even when they're aliens!
That made me laugh!
Hee!! Both Nine and Ten seem have moments when they're being utter blokes!
Lord, this is how it should have happened; Nine and Martha from the very beginning-well, beginning of the new series, that is. You really know how to weave canon and fanon together so convincingly.
If it's any consolation, I've got a Martha-centric multi-Doctor fic lined up, plus one featuring Martha, Ten and Eleven (Ten regenerates mid way through the story) and I'm currently writing a bit of shippy Martha/Ten fluff!

Oh, I think I might actually WORK on my Ten/Martha video today. I might need some butt kicking for motivation though! :P

It was certainly an interesting exercise to weave Martha into Season 1 without going AU...
