I found Gibson's story didn't engage my attention.

Don't apologize; I wasn't expecting anyone to read - let alone, like - my story. I fully expect people to say, "Dude, whiskey tango foxtrot is that?"

Now, if you'd said bad things about Terri's story, then I might've picked a fight. ;) I loved Terri's story. :)

But I can't fault you for not getting in mine. I can't fault you at all. :)

Well I feel bad because I *hate* giving up on stories - it irks me enormously. So I will give it another go at some stage...

I'm glad the story worked for you, and your reaction was just what I was hoping for with that ending. :)

Thank you very much for the kind words.

It's something I'd never seen done in Doctor Who (and couldn't find a mention of in the novels or any other ancillary material, for that matter), and I am always curious to see the responses to it. Yours is pretty much the standard so far, which tells me I did my job. :)

I'm with you, I love playing around with history, even though it was probably my worst subject in school. Give me a mystery in history, and it's story fodder. Considering what happens to Romana in the Big Finish Audios, it seemed like a perfect match. I'm thrilled that everyone who's read it so far and voiced their opinions seems to think so as well. :)

Thank you again.

Oh yes! Romana's story in the Gallifrey audios is utterly fascinating (and one day soon I will manage to finish writing the review of the second and third series that I've started twice!).

I love mysteries from history - they're generally more interesting to me than the "straight forward" stuff!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and chat.

I'm very glad that you enjoyed 'The Slave War' :-)

I did. I was seriously choked up by the end even though (or perhaps because) I knew, just as well as Ben, Polly and Jamie, that they wouldn't succeed.

I'm really glad that worked. It was difficult to maintain established history, and yet keep the companions hopeful (or, at least, willing to keep on fighting and save as much as they possibly could). I really appreciate your thoughtful comments and I'm so pleased the story touched you.

Yes - I can see that would be hard to achieve. I was very impressed at how well you made it work.
