We went hiking and then driving around in the Canadian Rockies from Canmore and ran into some snow on the ground there, too. Of course snow ball fights (yeah, right, not really) ensued. A few years ago when I went to Yellowstone in June and driving west from Cody, Wy. we found snow in the eastern part of the park. It's a bit strange to see it, at first, but then it's like, yeah, we're pretty high up, and not everything melts that quickly.

Just wanted to say hi, since I just came back to LJ after a huge span of time. I've decided to start reusing this thing. Nice to see you're still around. Sorry about your recent family loss. Take care.
