And so, at the very end of Madarame Ikkaku’s seventh day as captain of the third division, Kira Izuru thought to himself that maybe he understood exactly what kind of person his new captain was after all.

As it turned out, he was just a lot simpler than Kira had first expected.

My god, I love the way you put the sheer differences between Ikkaku and Gin's methods of command, because that really would affect everything. XD It must really be something, going from having to calculate every action's motive to Ikkaku's honest way of dealing with things.

Loved it! (Sorry I haven't been commenting in a while - work is eating me alive, and I've been skimming through the flist meaning to go back and read things later).

I can easily imaging Kira second-guessing everything for a long time, trying to figure out what subtle traps were there behind supposed kindness. One of the things I liked was that not just Kira, but the other seated officers were in that state of twitchiness that comes from never knowing if you're going to get a knife in the back or a pat on the head.

It's just that time of year where everyone gets swamped, I think. LOL You can tell I've got lots of work too, by the fact that I AM NOT DOING IT AND WRITING FIC INSTEAD. *sigh* I need better resolve. And bribes. XD

Nice. Kira is probably going to remain twitchy for awhile (as will Whatsyourname and Whatsyourface). As for Ikkaku being simpler than he thought being a good thing (or a bad thing!)...I look forward to more of your stories to see what conclusions he comes to.

LOL I think he'll be twitchy for a while and then eventually get fed up with Ikkaku's dicking around and pull a Nanao on him or something. Lots of *thwap* "Taichou wake up." *thwap*

I love the idea of Kira acting like Nanao! Can you imagine him trying to prevent Ikkaku from heading to the bar?! Ah, the comedic possibilities...
