Very, very nice. I like the way you gradually cue us in as to when this takes place, with the final reveal being Yumi's jacket. I love the way you described the fight, with the twigs and dust kicking up. The detail about Kenpachi shrugging off near-bisection is also great.

Also, it's so very, very true that only in the 11th, would captaincy be considered a stopping-off point on the way to becoming even stronger.

That was sexy like WHOA. (T_T) I think you and maldoror gave me a blood kink.
But yeah, tough love via beatings seems to be the only way to get ikkaku to move either forwards or back. Staying under zaraki might be noble, but i can see how the big man would get miffed at that. I liked how he asked yachiru for confirmation tho.
Ah, its always ikkaku fighting zaraki - makes me wonder how yumi feels about all this...i bet he'd scoff and titter at just the idea of fighting zaraki. Either its "how dumb do you have to be?" or "Imagine how ugly that would make me look!"
