Switzerland. Of all places, why had they had to end up in Switzerland? Not that it wasn’t a perfectly lovely country; Roderich had to give it that. But St. Gallen was a town full of memories for him-memories centuries old, and coming to mind far too often these days. He realized that they’d had to leave Berlin-no one could argue that that city was safe now-but hadn’t Vienna been closer that Sankt Gallen? Wouldn’t it have made more sense to go there? Or even to Frankfurt, or Munich, or Prague, or Budapest? Why, oh why, had they come to Switzerland ( ... )

((This is after Vash's talk with Liech))

The Swiss stormed into the room without even knocking; ready to yell at the man playing. It wasn’t that Vash disliked that particular piece, it just wasn’t the time for playing; they needed to figure out what to do. The stupid Austrian has his own country under attack too, how can he not worry?!

“Stop that.” He demanded, looking at Roderich in the eyes, trying to figure what was going through the other male’s head.
For a second, Vash remembered those same eyes, only centuries younger, messy dark hair framing his child like face. He was smiling at something the blond just said.

Enough. The Swiss hit his own head again, forcing himself to focus .

Deciding it was better not to stare at his friend again, he looked through the window, hoping to find some comfort on the landscape.

((I fail!))

The only peace that Roderich had had in almost a week was this music. And so, he was enjoying it to the fullest, feeding it his anxiety, his fear, his frustrations. Worry over Elizaveta, who was trekking to Russia; anger at Vash, who seemed so eager to subordinate Roderich; concern for Herakles, who was barely alive; and, of course, doubts about himself, and his own abilities to protect himself and his people in the fight to come. All these things he gave to music, so that as his fingers danced across the keys, his eyes closed, and he became completely absorbed by it ( ... )

Vash took a few seconds to realize the other had made him a question, too lost on his thoughts once again, more memories of their childhood resurfacing, as the mere presence of the Austrian across the room made his flashbacks worse.

“Because it’s annoying. If you want to stay out of the way like you did in our fight, at least do it quietly.” He hissed, not really sure why he wanted Roderich to fight if he knew the Austrian wasn’t very good on it. Vash just needed a scapegoat.

The Swiss looked back at his friend; glare fading slightly as he detected sadness on Roderich’s eyes. What’s wrong with him NOW?

((So hard to argue with you when you’re so right X3 I apologize again for a horrible post…))

The Swiss had been standing in front of that same window for the last hour or so, maybe even more. His legs were beginning to protest, but many thoughts rushed through his mind, keeping him too busy to care ( ... )

The second attack had been less of a surprise to the greek, than it had been to everyone else. For some reason, he'd expected it, after both groups had left. He wasn't sure how he'd known, but he'd seen many stray animals moving away from Lugwig's house, from the window of the room he'd been resting in. There'd been a lack of birds too, and their silence usually meant trouble.

Herakles realized he should have spoken up, when he'd first noticed these things, instead of hoping it meant nothing. As he lay in another bed, back to square one, unable to do much else but shift in bed, he wondered if his cats back home were doing alright by themselves.

When he heard the piano though, he wondered who was playing, as the greek stared at the ceiling. The musical notes made him want his pan pipes, for a reason or another. Maybe to play something that didn't sound so dark. It also made him wonder who's company he'd have next, if he could stay awake for it.

Gupta could have probably participated a bit more in the second attack than he had. Instead, he had stuck to the back of the group, amused by Switzerland and Sadiq’s charge against the enemy. When Herakles had jumped into the fray, Gupta had just shook his head, knowingly. If that Greek kept pushing himself like that, he wasn’t going to survive the next battle ( ... )

Having been on the edge of sleep, the sound of the door opening was like a bell for the greek. He opened his eyes, and watched Gupta come in, offering the other smile. Rubbing at his eyes, he tried to prop himself up a bit, so that he could look at the egyptian.

"Sadiq and Vash needed help," said Herakles, smile fading as he was reminded. He glanced at the door, wondering if the turk was going to join them or not. "It wasn't smart... but no one else was fighting. All that matters is that we got out of there in one piece. Sort of..." he finished, rubbing at the back of his neck.

Gupta shook his head, slowly. “So, having one of us dead would be better than having a few of us injured?” He wasn’t trying to antagonize Herakles, necessarily; he honestly just wanted to understand what had been going on his head. Sighing, he dragged a chair over to the bed and settled himself into it. “Don’t be so quick to jump in-sometimes you don’t have a chance to rethink things afterwards.”

As loathe as he was to admit it, Gupta had been very frustrated, recently. In his opinion, their group of nations should never have split up. Didn’t their bare-escape from the enemy just prove it? Sadiq and Switzerland were fighters; he and Austria could fight, but chose not to; and he doubted that Liechtenstein had ever seen battle. If they lost Herakles, all of them were left vulnerable-and if they had been attacked again, what did that say about everyone else, in Russia and in China ( ... )

Vash jumped a little when small arms were wrapped around him. Looking down, he saw a blond head that looked much like his own.

“Sofia…” He said, pulling her closer. “I was just thinking about what is going on.” And what should we do now.

He knew he had to look strong, for his sister’s sake.

The background song was beginning to irritate the Swiss, even though he suspected that it had little to do with the music itself.

Why did he need to stay with us?

Inside her head, she smiled a little when she felt her brother being startled by her precence. He would always be like that when he throught about something; at least that hadn't changed.

When he noticed that it was her, she felt herself being pulled into the hug. He also smelled the same, and acted the same...

It felt somewhat comforting to know that, and she rested her head on his shoulder. It felt safe to be with her brother, it had always felt safe with him.

She listened to what he said and nodded, being silent for while before she decided to speak again.

"I'm sure the other nations will be fine, and when we're all together we'll find a way to find peace again; I'm sure of it."

She looked up towards her brother slightly; wondering if he would agree or disagree. Either way, she hoped dearly that was she said would really happen.

((Woo~ Damn this keyboard, and I need moar icons X_X))

Ignoring his raising annoyance at the music, Vash rested his chin on his sister’s head, still hugging her.

“You should know I couldn’t care less for the others.”He explained softly, still looking out the window. I’m worried about us.

The Swiss was leaving many things unsaid indeed, guessing it was for the better. He shouldn’t make Sofia even more concerned. Liechtenstein was being attacked too, wasn’t it?

Vash sighed again.
“Have you found anything yet?”

But, Jeezy Creezy, that’s a lot of unnecessarily verbose introspection o.O tl:dr version; Greece makes Turkey feel all funny angry inside. Cue festering rage. Grr.))

Maniacal giggles-MANLY maniacal giggles-were still spilling from Sadiq’s lips as his unfortunate company arrived. The light squeaking of wheels and heavy panting were barely enough to tear him from his mental pep-talk, but when he finally noticed, he was greeted by the sight of That Shadow Thing’s favorite punching bag. Who happened to be Sadiq’s favorite punching bag. Just another grievance to claim against Them; using what was and still is his without permission ( ... )
