Sometimes Daniel enjoyed the hustle of the train. Having explored each direction for miles as XLR8, he was content with leaning back, reading a book he found on ancient runes. His feet propped up in the living room car, he was listening to some music that he found recorded from the time when he, Ed, Namine and Negi had sung their hearts out.

*It was one of those times where Kyon's Wobbuffet was out of his ball as he followed his trainer. Of course, Wobby is easily distracted when he sees another person, and so he wanders over and...*

WOOOOOBBUFFET!!

"Walk a mile in the other's shoes", huh?

[Well, Kyon knows that he certainly wouldn't want to walk a mile in Nagato's shoes after that two week time loop that lasted over 500 years a while back...]

WOOOOOOBBUFFET!!

[And of course. Wobbuffet presses the button.]

In a burst of light, the Omnitrix was activated and Daniel let out a "Whu-ooh..."

"SWAMPFIRE!" cried out Daniel reflexively and then looked down at his new green plant body.

"Aw man...!"

"It's the Omnitrix," Daniel explained in his new voice. "It allows the user to transform into different aliens, walk a mile in their shoes as it were. Also, each one of these forms have a different suitable ability for combat. Which is why my job's so dangerous as part of the SGC."

I... I see. And here I thought that between Haruhi and this train that I had seen it all by now...

"In my experience, there is always something that just comes out of nowhere to surprise people," replied Daniel, touching the hourglass shaped device on his chest and in a flash of green light, shrunk down to his normal self.

"In fact, it's what I do, facing aliens and, well, saving the world. And I keep running into things that never cease to surprise, or frustrate me."

Yeah, I'm kinda used to things coming out of nowhere. I guess you could kinda say I spend a lot of time saving the world back home myself... Of course, that mostly just involves keeping Haruhi entertained.

Daniel chuckled. "Well at least here we've got a good chance at relaxing and doing nothing but what we want to do."

That's true. Things here are a lot simpler to deal with than back home.

"Exactly. I've got no Ba'al to worry about, no Ori, no Vilgax..."

Well, I'm a little concerned about how the others are doing without me there, particularly Miss Asahina... Come to think of it, even if Team Galactic doesn't destroy the universe, without me around Haruhi's somewhat liable to do it herself...

Daniel had to nod. "I do worry what the rest of the SGC's getting up to without the Omnitrix in their ballpark, but I'm sure there hasn't been a life or death situation YET that requires my aid. Hopefully."

I'm honestly not sure what Team SOS could be up to without me around...

"Ouch, that bad huh? With an acronym like that..." winced Daniel.

"Team Spreading Excitement All Over the World with Haruhi Suzumiya", or "Team SOS" for short.

[A facepalm.]

Haruhi is often somewhat difficult to deal with.
