Well, so much for that.

Tried to watch the season premiere of House M.D. Whether it was the grimness of the prison setting or the bitter aftertaste of my total disenchantment with last season, I didn't make it through the first 20 minutes.

Oh well....

self-indulgent whinging, television

I quit watching last season and realized today when I saw an ad that I hadn't even realized the season premiere was about to air... and nothing in the ad made me think it would be worth tuning in. Kinda sad, because the show used to be a lot of fun.

Well, I tuned in because a couple of things I'd read made it sound like it might be at least worth a look in that train-wreck rubbernecky kind of way. They've jumped ahead in time a year, for starters. Cuddy's gone and they're' keeping details on the replacement dean to themselves. There's 2 new girl-docs joining the Baby Houses. Wilson's allegedly growing a spine.

But like last season's premiere, this one was all House In Isolation, Dealing With The Consequences. All prison, all the time. Lots of desaturated color and no music cues and grim-noir. It worked once, but this was not a well I particularly want to go back to. Maybe I'll give next ep a shot on streaming vid or something, just to see what's going on at Princeton-Plainsboro. But it's not likely to be appointment TV again, that's for sure.
