I did know...but I thought I'd give my own confused slant ;-) Here in the Pacific NW we tend to use a lot of the same words other parts of the country do...just all of them instead of our regional choices.
Like men's swimwear. I've heard them called swimsuits, speedos, trunks, board shorts... like I said, it depends on the style and the guy wearing them...sometimes also "Ooo!" or "Ew!" LOL!
That seems to a big city coastal thing (both coasts) also, not just the Pacific NW to know all the variations. It would be fun for me, since I am so old and have moved so much, to try to remember the earliest versions that I could.
