Roasted Peeps

gotmoof loves me. He brought me home some post-holiday sale Peeps. Roasting them over an open flame makes them the crème brûlée of roasted marshmallows. They're almost too good for the likes of S'mores.

That's why they should be privatized; split up, contained, dispersed, and over seen by separate custodians. Their shelf life is conspicuously long, very suspicious. They may think they're playing for the end game, but little do they know the fiery hell that awaits them.

As Peeps are neither vegetarian nor kosher I can't eat them.

I am some times surprised by what is or is not kosher, or for that matter, what is or is not vegetarian. I've heard of gelatin being an issue for both.

While Peeps may not be Kosher, I've seen Kosher marshmallows in the store, presumably usually using a gelatin substitute, like agar or pectin (which are vegetarian). I found a vegetarian recipe, which I should think could be make in a Kosher manner at home. I do see on Wikipedia that there are some animal derived Kosher gelatins called K-gelatin (of course, that doesn't help with the vegetarian thing

Hmmm... I'm going to plot something truly evil. Like taking Kinder's Eggs down for one of your gatherings!!!

I've actually started to find Kinder Eggs here, but they're rare. I've always assumed that they would have an up-hill battle against the Hershey & Mars chocolate cartel here in the USA. Well, that, and the fact that they mention these things are a choking hazard, not only in several languages other than English, but also within said hazard.
