Storm update

My house has been without electricity since Thursday afternoon. We've mostly been avoiding the house - went with my parents to mom's Elks Club induction Thursday evening for a/c and food. Went to parents' friends' house yesterday for more a/c and food. Am now holing up in gleeful_beat's basement because she is an excellent friend and invited me over

Wow, how scary. Glad you're okay, if suffering from the heat, and I hope George gets better soon.

Thanks! We finally got power back last night. It's such a relief to have a/c again and not be a horribly overheated mess, and to be able to store food. Fortunately we didn't have all that much in the fridge when it happened, so it wasn't a gigantic loss. And George seems to be doing fine now, though he's been putting up a fight over taking his meds! But he's been so good about not trying to poke at his sutures that we could take the collar off.
