Recently, I commented on a comm. I shouldn't have. It was just another citation of yet another scientific theory that has been embraced with way, way too much enthusiasm by outlets beholdened to that sweet, sweet advertiser cash. It's interesting, but a bit thin. The work is still being done that will either prove or disprove the efficacy.

The bit about the Pizarro band encountering waaay more people than previously thought lived on the Amazon is really interesting. Bates did the translation of the account himself, so I'm not sure if that is available elsewhere.

I'd get a used copy. I'd send you mine, but I still occasionally find myself using it as a reference.
