(and stopped being paranoid) :P

I wrote this story from... November because ansothehobbit's holiday wish list included wanting some Merry h/c and inspired me to write...

So i wrote some... and then it kept going and going and going till it's something long-ish and somewhat looking like a story. ;)

Inspired by this quote:

Dear Pippin had found him. Strong hands held onto his shoulders, pulling him up to a sitting position, and Merry almost had tears of joy to see Pippin again. Merry felt a spark of hope course through his mind once again, and he sought to stay strong for Pippin and not show any weakness.

What a wonderful gap-filler. You've brought quite a lot to this section of the Tale. Pippin was a great strength to Merry, and Merry also tried to be strong... for as long as he possibly could.

*hugs hobbits*

Thanks Shirebound! that was a fast reply indeed...you're a fast reader! =)
and thank you so much for your kind comments. :)
I felt i could do more h/c than Tolkien did for Merry at least... hehe =) And i like Pippin taking care of Merry... Tolkien managed to write about that twice... in here and also during their time with the orcs.

This was a lovely tale, a gapfiller of one of my favorite interactions between Merry and Pippin in the books! Nice job!

What an expansion of this part. I love how you stayed true to canon. It always puzzled me why PJ changed Merry's poignant line "Are you going to bury me?" into the rather tame "Are you going to leave me?"
"Houses of Healing" is one of my favorite chapters, and I always love to see this scene played out.

Me too... i remember reading a discussion about this in some other journal (i think voontah's) that asked this q and i'm puzzled as well--so much more poignant to ask if he was going to be buried...
I love HoH too and really wanted more Merry healing so i wrote and wrote. ;)
Thanks for your thoughts. :)
