I love them! That first one is my favorite because you really do capture Thorin's surprise at what Bilbo holds dear. I like the way it shows the contrast between Thorin and Bilbo and the races of Dwarves and Hobbits. Lovely! (Also one of my favorite scenes in the film)

The second one is also very good. Poor Thorin! Having to say goodbye just when he was starting to remember what is important in life. It's so sad that he never got the chance to be the King he could have been.

I had a terrible time with the formatting on LJ the other day and finally gave up and posted just like it came out. lol It looks awful but I couldn't get it to do what it was supposed to. Yours is better formatted than mine was.

Thank you so much! I am very glad you liked them and so enthusiastic about this! I'm very flattered. :)
There is a contrast between hobbits and dwarves and i'm glad you see that.

The second one is very sad to write because emotions run high so i'm glad that that worked too!

I wanted to make space between the lines, it wouldn't let me. Wouldn't let me directly cut and paste from word without having weird highlighting... dunno what's wrong with LJ these days. :P

He surprised me in all the good ways that us dwarves have yet to learn.

What a beautiful line. This is wonderful.

Of course Thorin would have realized that Bilbo wouldn't have interest in Dwarfish desires, although of course that would change as the gold lust gets worse! ;D

yes, i think Thorin would be warped from the gold lust and only realizes the good at certain times and the Acorn scene unlike the scene with the mithril shows two different sides.
