I'm seeing the Fellowship parody on Thursday and TTT on Friday! We're all crossed on days. But that doesn't mean we can meet up for a lunch or something. I leave for NY on Wed. and I will be leaving to come home very, very, early on Sunday. Email me and maybe we can work out a tiny moot. I'd love to see you. Congrats on the new business.

Thanks for the congrats-- do you need new glasses? ;)
I hope we can hang out! You're leaving on sunday? OH noes! hmm.. how about early brunch on Sat. morning? Or perhaps drinks on Thursday night? I'm available after 8 pm that night.
I really want to meet up! Even if it's only for a little while-- reply via LJ or email soon. :)
:hugs:

I say Sunday because I leave Monday morning at 6am so I will be at the airport by about 4am on Monday. Really, Monday is a waste of time this trip. LOL

I just emailed you. We might be able to do dinner Sunday night. If all else fails, give me directions to your new store and maybe we can stop by, see the store and say hi at least. Make them very good direction though. This will only be my fourth trip to NY so I still get lost.

As to new glasses, I just got them in June. Maybe next year?

I know you'll have a wonderful time at Fellowship! and TTT!

SOA has been having a lot of probems with their new server provider. The mods are trying to get it fixed.

*hugs hugs*

*LOVE* the fact (rumored fact) of PJ directing. HATE, HATE, HATE the idea of it being in 3D. Hell, as long as it's MADE I'll survive!

yes, the 3D part is kinda controversial... i'm afraid Hollywood is after the money which is expected but hopefully it just won't deviate too much and be sensationalized too much... i'm wary of adaptations and just hope that it'll be somewhat like the book and not be too extraordinarily different with the 3D bit. :P
At least PJ's directing...but then again we don't know how far-fetched he can get with 3D... :P

Wow! I'm jealous that you actually have fandomy things in your area!

We've known that PJ would direct essentially since GDT left... to do... Haunted Mansion? What?

Honestly, I do not have hopes for the Hobbit movie. I already had issues with Rings, but the tone of The Hobbit is essentially different. PJ could pull off the feel of "epic" very well, but The Hobbit isn't epic--it's wonder-ful and whimsical. That, and so many hitches are in the way now (PJ is threatening to pull the production to Eastern Europe because of some actors union issues)--the project just has a lot of bad blood running through it. I won't even believe that the film is being made until it's actually in production--preferably the tail end of that--but I just don't have the heart to believe that it could possibly be made well now.

Of course, I would love to be proven wrong.

I'm really curious on how Hobbit will turn out esp. since it's a light children's story if you make it to be but it doesn't seem like it's going that way-- if Del Toro did it, it would possibly be darker so i do have confidence that PJ will do a good job.

I hope all the drama with the actor's union isn't too serious and can be resolved. I do hope it'll be made in NZ too.

With all the issues, i just hope things speed up for it being done! So sick of waiting. :(

If Del Toro did it, it might be darker, but it wouldn't be the same kind of darker as PJ's. Del Toro's vision has a lot more of the otherworld and the perilous about it, which you need to do The Hobbit right (hence the term "wonder-ful").

I'm sick of waiting, too, though in my case I think it's more of "Just get it over already!" I want the air to be cleared for other interpretations, now.
