I'll admit, I was pretty wtf at the vet not knowing where the nearest animal shelter is. Here in Boulder, not only do all the vets know, but pretty much any person you ask will at least know of its existence. You might want to do some research in your area, and see if you can find one that's in reasonable distance; just so you know in the event there's ever something like this that happens again. :)
It wasn't really a vet so much as a VERY SMALL personal clinic. Like, it was essentially a front desk and one back room. The size of an apartment. Remember that I am out in the boonies, so any sizable vet or shelter would probably be further than we could go in walking distance without a car.
That's true... but it's still important for a vet, regardless of their position, to be made aware... at least that's what I think. D: But, what you guys did saved the little kitten's life, and you did the right thing. ♥ And hopefully a loving home will be able to take it in.
