I think I've said this before, but even though you've basically moved back into the same area I'm in, I still feel like you've gone away somehow. It's weird! I guess I just really enjoyed experiencing Okinawa vicariously through you, haha.
How Japan Changed You...ext_1771100April 24 2013, 06:25:43 UTC
Do you think living in Japan has changed your perspective about America or foreigners in general? In what way?
My wife is native to Honshu from Yokosuka in the Kanagawa Prefecture and moved to the states for college (where we met). We still live in the states but visit her folks from time to time.
Just in getting to know my wife while we were dating, there were a lot of assumptions I made that have absolutely changed. My outlook on people and foreign culture as a whole is not what it was before I met her.
Don't sweat it, Japanese food culture is insane. We're convinced we'll never find great Gyoza in the states. I don't think anyone who's been there can't help but become somewhat of a food snob.

I'm sure it has, but maybe I won't realize what exactly it is until I leave Japan. ^^;

Second, people here DO talk way too loud. I was thinking that just today. I never made the connection.
Third, please write a heartfelt rap about leaving Japan.
- Guess who?
