I can hear Eight in my head saying that.

Every second was a baited breath, every minute a corner in a long hallway, hearts beating in frantic anticipation for someone to come and take her away from him, to leave him alone and helpless as they returned her to her rightful place on board the R-101.

What a brilliant turn of phrase!

You have a very certain way of capturing many different emotions and ideas in a short amount of words that I absolutely love. Reading this, I get the sense of love, of happiness, of uncertainty and even a little terror, all rolled together and expertly peppered through your writing. You can always get right into the Doctor's head and make these incredibly poignant statements and observations. It never ceases to amaze me.
