Query about fic recs and community rules

Hi everyone! I'm new, both to this amazing community and the Aubrey-Maturin fandom in general. I've been a fan of the movie for years, and only recently started the books on recommendation from a friend, and now I'm completely addicted. I was very excited to see this community is still active, and I had a couple questions about the books and the ( Read more... )

I haven't read all the fic yet, since I'm only partway through the series myself, but I have to say Jack h/c is definitely on my list of things I'd like to write!

For your second question: hehehehe wait til you read book 2. And 5, and especially 6, and..... er. Yes? I haven't hit specifically broken bones yet, but Stephen treats Jack for a whole lot of different injuries.

And yes please link!

This sounds very promising! And yeah, I'm only half way or so into the first book, and I'm already failing at not falling completely in love with Stephen :)

Hahahah!! Welcome on board!

Stephen most definitely does treat Jack for injuries in the books . . . keep reading! I'd hate to spoil things for you with specific references, but I truly recommend reading the books in sequence, to follow through their adventures which are many and varied in many and varied lands.

It's always difficult to make recommendations as there are so many fics "out there", but if you try Perfect_Duet's "Memories" here:

Or AO3 here:

That should keep you going for a while!

Welcome aboard. :)

Indeed Stephen does treat Jack now and again, but please continue reading. The books and their characters are well worth it.

Thanks! And Thanks for the links! I have a sneaky suspicion this might be one of those rare beasties where I find myself enjoying the canon works as much as the fic :)

Thanks! And thanks everyone for being so welcoming!! I will definitely be back with fic once I feel semi-confident with capturing the character's voices, although I have a sneaking suspicion that's far easier said than done with these two ; )
