It is a charming drabble, isn't it. :) It serves my personal squee whenever I read Jack mending Stephen's clothes, something he does several times in the books. *g*

Theehee :) CAPTAIN Jack Aubrey has some feminine qualitites about him :) And Stephen is always adorable neglecting his things. They are made for each other. I want a sequel!!!!! NAOW!!!

Nothing feminine about our Jack! He really knows how to mend stockings or sew on buttons. *g* I remember that once in the books Killick is grumbling about the way a maid at Ashgrove had sewn on a button wrong, so he had to re-do it.

I don't think that's likely. Sea is no longer in fandom and only wrote this piece for a Christmas present.

Awww. I can just see Jack sitting on the floor near a great window mending the stockings.

That image is irresistable :)

I can so see Jack all domestic while Stephen might consider reading to him...provided he gets over his grumpiness
*sniggers*
Or maybe Stephen finds a different way to repay Jack?

My husband was in the US Navy for 20 years. He does all our family hand-sewing.
