Sure thing - I never really know how to rate things, but I suppose this has to be PG for mentions of death/suicide and prostitution...

I could have dealt with Hen on the French side, but to read of dear Sophie, so desolate sure did it for me, just like the thought that Jack might have chosen the guillotine over declaring for Bonaparte that image would have been too close to the pillory for me
*reaches for tissues and sniffles*

Oh, what a wonderful offering for today, even though I do not like that movie. But its ideas work well with Stephen. :D

*hands over half-empty tissue box*

You know Jack would never have gone over to the French...

I'm glad you liked this even though you don't like the movie!

I went for it being rung 48 times (4 times an hour) rather than the actual strokes because, umm maths isn't my strong suit either... *g*

Was it too upsetting? (Not that there's much I can do about it now, it is what it is!) I know it depressed the hell out of me as I was writing it, and I knew how it was going to end. I ask in all seriousness with a view to improving my writing - sometimes it gets very hard to see ones own work objectively...

A debauched sloth all of my own?! Excellent!!

I get the impression sometimes that the crew thinks Stephen goes round the bend on a regular basis, so what's one more trip... ;-)

Glad you liked it though.

This was amazing story! So sad and even upsetting, but that made the end even sweeter. And I also loved the idea of the ship's bell creating angels. Absolutely lovely and made me smile. Thank you so much for this.

Oh dear, I seem to have reduced everyone to tears with this one! I'm glad you liked it though. I wish I could say the bells making angels was my idea, but it is a straight lift from the film - as is Clarence himself!
