HMS Surprise on BBC radio 4

In case, you have missed it, BBC radio 4 had produced a three-part play based on HMS Surprise. It has been done well, considering that it had to be heavily abridged to fit into 2.15hrs. It doesn't take long to get used to the voices so different from the movie.

I've finished (listened to an audiobook of, that is) Master and Commander. I'm waiting to get paperbacks of the next two, and am impatient. I have not even had a chance to go to a library in the past few weeks. ):

Oh yes, it's just such a pleasure to turn it on and occupy my mind while I go about my mindless tasks. It's a wonderful reading, a dramatic reading which can be a bity odd in places. He makes Stephen's accent a little bit too Irish for my taste, but his Jack is perfect.

I just downloaded Desolation Island from iTunes, that was the one I wanted from Audible and could only get in Abridged form. Soon as I finish The Commodore I will be starting that one. My podfic is taking a back seat right now. :-)
