My selection is but small for so vast a subject, even if I restrict myself to AoS during the Napoleonic Wars. This is something that never happened to me in any of my other fandoms. When I began with the Aubreyad, I almost immediately wanted to know more, not only about nautical, naval and natural philosopher stuff but about the period itself, its society, its people.
There are numerous biographies on Jack’s hero Nelson, on Collingwood, Keith, Captain Cook, other captains of the Royal Navy, Trafalgar and other battles, Sir Joseph Banks, books about the Regency, the Royal Society, the Admiralty, the Liberty of the Savoy, Mother Clap’s Molly House or Jane Austen and the Navy. You name it; there is likely a book out there on the subject.
For my companion books I used amazon.com. I do not have any shares in that company. Do have a look around ebay or used book shops where you may find some of the books cheaply.
