Winter Days

This last week has been sunny and almost warm. On Monday, at the peak of shopping season, a friend and I drove to a small fishermen's village less than hour from the city. It was almost deserted, peaceful, silent and sunny, and we enjoyed a wonderful meal.

Oh I am so jealous! It is sunny here (today--we went for 23 straight days of cloudy in December) but we are having a polar express or vortex or whatever they will call it this year. For the last two days, it has been 0 degrees fahrenheit. Right now (8:30 a.m.), it is 4 degrees. I. Hate. Winter.

oh, I hear your pain. It's 14 celsius here, and I am reminding myself that that's exceptionally war, but I Do Hate Winter. And you must resent it even worse, after all those years down there in Florida... :-/

Ooh, lovely. So pretty.

It's been wet and mild here. Up to 14C on the odd occasion, which is crazy here for January. But wet with it so not that pleasant. There are wind warnings for today and it's currently 7C. Still, I keep telling myself anything is better than ice.

Wet is bad and ice is worse. 14c is crazy around here, too. We'll be paying for it in spring, I fear..
