International Forest Day

This one?  I knew about. Actually I posted one of my first fanfics this day eight years ago, a short one-shot inspired by the theme of the day and my own job. Eight years is a long time for a hobby!
So to honour the day, and the forests, I leave you with a beautiful pic I took last autumn. Happy Forest Day!

I remember getting up the guts to post my first fanfic. Thank goodness we all did. We entertained one another and found good friends.

Yes. It was a blessing that we all did. :-) I was checking that story at soa for the exact date and could hardly believe it was back in 2005!

I am amused by the XYZ Day assignments. I didn't know they did that. It's kind of nice, really. They should publicize things like this more.

yes,that's my bike! :-) This is an easy mountain trail, beautiful in autumn and spring, and last autumn I had time and it was a gorgeous, leafy autumn, so I was very happy.

The XYZ day assignmnets are mostly PR.... there are a handful I keep track of, more or less... there's AIDs day, in the beginning of decembre, International Women's Day, MArch8th ( which in europe coincides apparently with theIeuropean Day of rare diseases, isn't that hilarious?) march 20th is Forest Day, and I know that for Work reasons... Some time in Dec, too is UN day, the anniversary of the human rights charter.... October 20th I believe is fight against hunger... September 27th is world tourism day...I know of them for work reasons, not that the politicians and international organzzaitions make a lot to involve people...
