My sister has hers and is taking it off to the airport with her. I pre-ordered and therefore won't get it delivered till Monday. I'm a little bit jealous
Kian's Mum has had her copy on pre-order with play.com for *months* and had them delivered this morning.
I remember my Mum last time having to be up early to get hers as the post man was coming to us with one of the first copies of the day (on his route) and was doing them separately to the normal mail.
The first sentence I appreciate, that's a good enough reason on it's own, the second! well the "Why" really applies to those who pre-ordered at extraordinary prices plus p&p only to be the last to get their copies, I suppose there is still the element of anticipation, assuming that the *spoilers* have not got in first!
Try and realise that most bookshops (pretty much all of them who aren't selling them at the RRP) are making a loss on these Harry Potter books. The competition to have the lowest price between all the big stores (in Australia: Kmart, Big W etc. In Englad I suppose Asda is along the same lines) makes it hard for bookstores. I personally prefer buying the book from bookstores because they usually have a countdown, the staff dress up and that's where all the serious potter fans are.
My parents owned and operated a bookstore successfully for 13 years. I know what I'm on about :)

Life is not just about getting the best deal on something, I'd have hoped you'd understand that.
