THANK you. It's nice that witches can be a part of this show without definitely appearing in grossly misogynist episodes. But it's curious, how as soon as the menfolk started showing up, independent, non-evil witch power started being available (usually to them, HOW ODD).

You're not going to mention the Men Of Letters? They're essentially male witches without actually going by the name.

It doesn't matter if you're monster, demon, witch or human, tbh, I just think SUPERNATURAL is a white male supremacist show. All else follows from that.

Too true about the MOL. The second they decide to be slightly progressive and permit a woman (Josie) into the club they get wiped off the face of the earth. I can't disagree with your assessment.

Sorry if I swooped out of nowhere. I read your dismay about Sam at the beginning of S8 (via google) back then. I really appreciate your posts on SPN (you seemed to be the only one talking sense back then, a lot of fans seemed in denial).

Jeremy Carver killed the show for me. I had issues with it but he really killed the few things I had left to like about it.

The thing representation of female witches vs male really ticks me off. I already hated the depiction of female witches on the show period but the contrast with male witches is utterly ridiculous.

(ps - Speaking of the MOL, I was also really mad that the only person who seemed to care about Josie was Henry before he died. Now imagine a hunter treating Sam that way when he was possessed by Meg, or Lucifer, for that matter. Josie being burned alive - much like Meg's death - didn't even rate some concern. The shows misogyny is striking.)

Oh, I don't mind you swooping in. I was really unhappy with a lot of last season and I honestly don't know if I'm going to keep up this season, so I understand your feelings. Yes, the misogyny and racial issues are incredibly striking and very bothersome. I spent years knowing it was there, but turning off my mind because I enjoyed the show so much, but there is less to redeem it now.

I had really mixed feelings about Meg. Of all the demons she was the one who did the most personal damage to Sam and Dean, killing their friends, possessing Sam and having his body kill a man, murdering Ellen and Jo. Then she gets redeemed partly because Castiel has the hots for her, which bothered me. Sarah's death was the one I found pretty unforgivable. To bring her back as a young mother and one of the few people who actually listened to Sam and sympathized with him and then kill her off really sickened me. The show has the unfortunate tendency to fridge every female character and that really bothers me.
