The secret to making good brownies, Percy, is to pull them from the oven before they're actually done. Leftover heat will keep them cooking a bit longer as they cool.

That i know, second batch came out right like that- it's just i forgot i was cooking the first attempt i had.

I have heard tell of this marvelous invention that helps prevent such mishaps ... it's called a "timer."
